Summer concerts have always been special events for the Orchestra, seeing how they provide an opportunity to meet the audience in a slightly more informal, familiar form, far from the world of the concert halls. Following our recent online concerts, we can hardly wait for the festivals in August, letting us enjoy the magical atmosphere of summer evenings once more shared with our audience.
Our first concert will take place in the Balaton Uplands, as part of the Kőfeszt Festival, Bernadett Király-Domány and Boglárka Jobbágy (violin), as well as Boglárka Szűcs (viola) and Gabriella Bali (cello) will play in the church garden of Kékkút on 5 August. The free concert will feature string quartet pieces composed by Mozart, Grieg, Pavel Fischer and Piazzolla, among others.
Keeping in line with the recent traditions, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra will perform again this year on the 12th edition of the Kaposfest; complete with renowned soloists, the ensemble will play on 17 August in Kaposvár. One of the soloists of the evening will be the outstanding violinist of Norwegian descent, Eldbjørg Hemsing, who will deliver his next concert at the Academy of Music in April 2022. The concert will also feature Amihai Grosz, solo viola player of the legendary Berlin Philharmonic, a former member and founder of the Israeli Jerusalem Quartet. Fülöp Ránki, one of the outstanding artists of the youngest generation of Hungarian pianists, will join our Orchestra for the first time, performing Malédiction by Franz Liszt. Further performances will involve the works of Johan Svendsen, Hindemith and Beethoven.
We will bid adieu to the summer as part of the Zemplén Festival on 22 August in Sárospatak in the courtyard of the Rákóczi Castle. Being one of the founders of the festival, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra keeps returning to perform year after year. The closing concert of the series is traditionally delivered by our Orchestra, and in this fashion, together with a number of great domestic and foreign soloists, we will be playing the last concert of the Festival celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The programme will offer several surprises: the trumpet, rarely seen as a solo instrument, will take the floor with its bright and soaring sound. Performing artists will include Gábor Boldoczki, Tamás Pálfalvi, Gábor Tarkövi, Gábor Richter, Gábor Rónai and Dénes Seidl.
We look forward to seeing you on our summer concerts!
