Four Cities, Four Unique Venues
Our programme featured key works of Hungarian and Romanian musical heritage, including pieces by Liszt, Bartók, Farkas and George Enescu, as well as Pēteris Vasks’s viola concerto, performed in Cluj-Napoca with the participation of Romanian violist Razvan Popovici.
Judit Körmendy-Ékes, Chair of our Board of Trustees, highlighted:
“This tour could not have taken place without the support of EXIMBANK – now for the second time. When dedicated patrons engage with the work of an ensemble, it creates new opportunities. We are very grateful for this support.”
Warm Reception at Every Stop
Our tour began in Arad, in the evocative atmosphere of the Minorite Church. The audience’s feedback on the first evening already showed how strongly the programme resonated with the local community.
In Cluj-Napoca, as part of the SoNoRo Festival, our performance of Enescu’s Octet received particular attention, with the audience expressing their appreciation through a standing ovation.
In Târgu Mureș, the secessionist splendour of the Cultural Palace provided a remarkable setting. The concert concluded with prolonged applause, to which we responded with an encore.
Our final concert in Odorheiu Secuiesc filled the ceremonial hall of the Town Hall to capacity. After the performance, many listeners shared personal comments, confirming for us that the evening had become a genuine communal experience.
Our concertmaster, Péter Tfirst, summarised the experience as follows:
“Each venue presented its own acoustic challenges, which contributed greatly to the fine-tuning of the performances. The feedback we received everywhere reflected an attentive and open-minded audience.”
More Than 1,400 Attendees
Across the four cities, our concerts attracted more than 1,400 listeners.
In December, we look forward to welcoming audiences again in several Budapest venues, as well as in Keszthely and Szolnok. At the end of the Advent season, we will also appear at the renowned Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb.
