On May 25, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra gave a sold-out concert in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, delivering an unforgettable musical experience to the audience. Artistic director and cellist István Várdai’s solo was the same piece he previously performed on the show Virtuózok — a performance that won the hearts of both the jury and viewers on screen. Now, many years later, he captivated the live audience with his soul-stirring interpretation. His deeply emotional playing, combined with the orchestra’s refined ensemble, moved the audience so profoundly that part of the crowd gave a standing ovation at the concert’s conclusion, acknowledging the exceptional artistry. The program featured Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor and Brahms’ monumental Symphony No. 2 in D major, perfectly matching the unique atmosphere of one of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. With this performance, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra once again confirmed its international prestige and musical versatility.
