The opening evening drew significant attention at the Belvárosi Főplébánia Church: both concerts were fully attended. The first installment of the series focused on Baroque music, featuring Purcell’s Abdelazer Suite, Vivaldi’s h-minor Concerto for Four Violins, Bach’s extract from the D major Suite, and Handel’s Concerto Grosso movements.

The combination of Baroque music and the sacred space worked particularly well in the Nagyboldogasszony Church. Interestingly, the orchestra’s namesake, Liszt Ferenc, conducted the church’s orchestra and choir several times, although, according to the current members, the orchestra had not performed here before.

The series will continue on February 14 at the Budapest Music Center with Romantic repertoire. Before that, during the Advent season, the orchestra will perform on December 14 at the Liszt Academy and on December 18 at the Reformed Church on Pozsonyi Street, where the audience can experience further concerts.
