The Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra launched its talent program “Own Our Violin” for the very first time this year. Young musicians aged between 16 and 24 were invited to apply for an extraordinary opportunity: the two-year use of a Spiegel violin, crafted in 1908, generously offered by a patron who wishes to remain anonymous.

After the submission of applications, live auditions followed, and a professional jury selected the winner of the master instrument. The award went to Attila Rácz, a 17-year-old violin student from Debrecen, who will now be able to continue his artistic journey with this remarkable instrument.

The violin was presented on World Music Day in a festive ceremony at the Liszt Academy, where István Várdai, cellist and Artistic Director of the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, officially handed it over to Attila.

Congratulations!
