Concert in Karmelita

Liszt | Dvořák | Tchaikovsky | Pavel Fischer | Liszt – Wolf P.

Karmelita - Beethoven Hall

Kossuth Prize-winning graphic artist and acclaimed animated film director Ferenc Cakó captures the magic of the moment, bringing to life images inspired by music. Using a special technical setup, his creations are projected live onto the cinema screen for the audience to enjoy.

The concert opens with Liszt’s devilish Mephisto Waltz in an arrangement for string orchestra, followed by Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings in E major – a work radiating peace and cheerfulness, providing a striking contrast. The spotlight then turns to Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, with the unique performance guaranteed by István Várdai’s profound musicality, exceptional tonal refinement, and unparalleled rapport with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. Pavel Fischer’s work offers glimpses of music from different regions and eras, before the evening is crowned by one of Liszt’s most popular pieces, the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, in an arrangement by Péter Wolf.
