This concert is not only a musical experience, but also a deeply human one – a tribute to peace, remembrance, and human dignity, marking 80 years since the end of World War II in Europe.
The programme draws on the rich legacy of classical music, spanning a wide array of eras and styles: the uplifting melodies of Joseph Haydn, the drama of Giuseppe Verdi, the folk-inspired rhythms of Antonín Dvořák, the lyricism of Max Bruch and Jean Sibelius, and the monumental soundscapes of Richard Wagner and Charles Gounod all represent fragments of a diverse Europe where music is the universal language. The evening will also feature a rarely performed piece by Bernardo Segall and a work by Martin Fröst, one of the most exciting figures in the contemporary music scene.

Exceptional soloists and artists will grace the stage: Ildikó Megyimórecz (soprano), Mátyás Hotzi (cello), and Ali Lugosi (clarinet), joined by the moving voices of the Budapest Wandering Choir under the direction of Dr. Zsuzsanna Németh, conducted by Dávid Mester.
The historic Rumbach Synagogue provides a fitting setting for the message of the concert – a meeting of past, present, and future through music.
The concert is presented with the support of the Municipality of Erzsébetváros and the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (MAZSIHISZ).
